Over the last week or so i have noticed that my plants have been going yellow in the leaves which to my mind suggests some sort of nutrient deficiency. i am running the system on the power of 60+ goldfish in a 300 litre tank.. Yellow leaves aquaponics once you have run your aquaponics system for some time, you can quickly and easily tell if the plants are showing iron deficiency just by looking at them. when the plants have a slight yellowing of the leaves this is a strong indication for iron deficiancy..

In order to do that you need to avoid nutrient deficiency in aquaponics systems. in aquaponics, it is much simpler to optimize your plants’ diet than in soil gardening and considerably less maintenance to do so compared to using hydroponic methods.. Yellowing between leaf veins; a lack of iron in your aquaponic system will harm all the plants growing there, not just the ones that are prone to iron issues. magnesium deficiency in aquaponics. another of the common aquaponics plant deficiencies is low magnesium. magnesium plays an essential role in many of a plant’s internal functions.. Bear in mind, root vegetables, plants requiring a ph greater or lesser than 7.0 are not quite fit to be grown in an aquaponic system. so by avoiding the above mentioned mistakes, you can help your plants grow at a faster rate..
